Thank you, thank you, thank you. I found a different video that claimed to show how a gas spring worked but ONLY showed applications. I was aware that hydraulic cylinders had different areas on opposite sides of the piston meaning that opening they had more force than closing but did not think about how that would work with a gas spring.
These are good maths.
Wow, fixed my problem in less than 30 seconds. Thank you!!!
thank you very much for this video my question from where you get 300lb although the sum of tensio is 200 plus 50
All my life I've wondered, "why did we learn triganometry in school, I'll never use this in the real world"? Who'd have thought I'd need it to keep my toolbox lid up?? Now I wished I'd listened more in class.....
What software did you use?
software???????
Very glad you produced this valuable video. It provides a thorough explanation of the trigonometry and calculations behind the analysis without divulging too much info as to give away the process yet all the necessary info is there. Ya, just gotta pay attention! I think that creating the spreadsheet is left as an exercise for the student to enhance their comprehension. Title typo in video at key-frame 0:00 - missing 2nd L in CALCUATION.
It is a good video.
Can u share speadsheet ? thank a lot <3
Im havin a problem, i dont have acces to my Edge Flanges in my solidworks, anyone knows what to do?
I think clarification on the horizontal vectors for the normal bending for each of the micro units would help; since, the acting force comes from above as the normal stress. Thanks.😊
if load is going down, which work must the motor do?
Thanks mate, perfect video for what I was looking for!
Real example of applied Mechanics 🙏🙏🙏🙏😁😁😁
How to measure the load and tension
Interesting, in 1980, in one of our first EE classes, we programmed an assembly language street light controller including walk button, on early z80 microcomputers with hexadecimal keypad and punch tape input and output was an eight 7-segment display. We ran our programs by inputting tape, but I don't remember where we edited our code to produce the tape. Maybe there was crt editor on a PDP-11, although we often made ibm punch cards might have used those to output on tape. There was a huge time penalty for code errors, we had to re-output our tape, maybe change labs to run again...
Excellent video, answered a number of questions for me.
Excellent project. Thank you so much!
I built this spreadsheet based on his description of each triangle. It seems to work but difficult to determine if I have any errors. It would have been very useful to see the real life results in the video to see if my spreadsheet works correctly.
please use metric
lets say you latch run rung 1 and now want to program plc such that rung one stops if you start rung two do you add NC switch after start PB on rung 1 or NO switch ???
can i have the ppt file
Thank you very much for detailed video. Please upload the excel sheet.
That was an amazing tutorial thanks. I would really appreciate a copy of the spreadsheet.
I have a question why A and B, why can't A volcrum point not be on the other side of the force or fly wheel
great video indeed, thank you.
Very clear and excellent explanation of gas springs. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain these. It's really shocking and crazy that that physics principle actually works this way; this is now one of my new favorite devices. lol
Can you please suggest me a ladder for Automatic car parking system project Condition: when a car comes near the sensor it senses and the solenoid coil gets energized and gate opens and the gates holds for 10 seconds after that solenoid coil gets de energized and gate closes
F=PxA. Algebra calls for dividing both sides of the equasion by F, leaving PxA/F/ The F cancles out if divided into F on the left side of the equasion. This IF Algebra causes a fight to break out with the Electricians since 1900. Coverting to business math does not help. This same relationship mathematically cannot be pondered unless they have thoughts that are not going to cause harm to themselves or others. E=IxR can cause death to Electricians.
Didn't thought it's as simple as that!
what size hydraulic pump do I need for 5 horse power at 3000 psi and what is the formula at 1600rpm
Brother Schellenberg, since graduating and then trying to get back into the swing of school I’ve definitely seen the value in the way you structured your online class work. Thanks for putting in the work to put these courses together. This man was one of my instructors in college. He’s a terrific teacher.
how to decide where to put the bearings i mean the spacing how much we can give how can we decide that????
@Aaron is this spreadsheet something you could share?
How to find a back pressure between cylinder and valve?
Thank you, very impressive comoarisonnof bed of nails.
What would be the formula for working out the pressure and flow rate at the neck for a given diameter at P1 and given speed of flow? I want to work out how much I can increase a pressure and volume of air in a narrowed pipe where the larger diameter acts as a scoop to for more air. Thank thanks for any help.
wHY STATIC LOAD? IT SHOULD BE DYNAMIC SINCE THE PULLEY IS ROTATING
He probably intended this lecture to be delivered in a class where some of the students don’t have knowledge of dynamics.
If I turned this upside down, would it work with a murphy bed?
I was just working on my computing assignment for whole day while sitting on chair playing with my chair's height adjustable spring lever. yeah so good tym to learn about this spring
Any way I could get a copy of the spreadsheet?
Thanks for an excellent explanation of how these gas springs work. Very interesting.
Hi, I think there is some wrong input in the excel cells for the load calculation. there is some mis match value with the manual calculation for both bearings. When calculating manually, load on bearing By= 300*6/3 = 600 but in the excel cell you put this for bearing Ay. So which is correct result? excel cell or manually calculated? Thanks.
Consider manual Calculation, The Excel Calculation must be other way round- but it was good explanation
Thanks!
What if the belt that goes to the motor was off to the right as opposed to below the mounted shaft? would the force from the motor still contribute to radial load in the same manner?
No , That bearing will not be just fine, get the first one.
Thanks for doing a great video. How does the moment calculation changes when the shaft is directly connected to a motor ?
Great video, thanks!
Aaron Schellenberg does an excellent job as an educator and this video is of superior quality.
